Branch History

In the Bank’s endeavor to facilitate the flow of trade between Jordan and other countries and aim to serve the needs of corporate and individual clients who have financial interests in Europe, JKB established Jordan Kuwait Bank – in the Republic of Cyprus on 31st May 2001 and commenced operations on 1st September and in early 2006, Cyprus branch became an onshore branch for Jordan Kuwait Bank under the new regulations related to Cyprus' entry into the European Union and adoption of the Euro. The main objective of this branch is to serve the Bank’s clients with regard to their foreign banking needs, as well as to serve international companies with regard to their commercial and trade relations with Jordan and the surrounding countries. Cyprus branch offers commercial and private banking services such as short & long term lending, deposit keeping, trade finance services, and investment activities to high-net-worth clients of JKB – Jordan (individuals & corporate) as well as placements and borrowing services provided to Jordan Kuwait Bank - Head Office and other international banks.

Internet Banking (JKB Online)
Jordan Kuwait Bank offers its clients a free and exceptional service that enables clients to access their accounts 24 hours from any personal computer connected to the internet ensuring security and privacy. 

Banking via sms
Jordan Kuwait Bank offers its clients the ability to bank via SMS to obtain all information / notifications related to account transactions as soon as they occur and to view accounts’ balances, most recent transactions, or to transfer funds between personal accounts or to third party accounts at Jordan Kuwait Bank.


MFI ID (Monetary Financial Institution Identifier) is a code, unique to each institution in the MFI list provided by ECB (European Central Bank). MFI ID is hence applicable to MFIs resident in the European Union. The MFI ID of Jordan Kuwait Bank is: CY120020


Deposit Guarantee
Deposit Guarantee Schemes compensate certain deposits held by depositors of a bank that become unable to meet its obligation.

All credit institutions operating in Cyprus are obliged to participate in Cypriot deposit guarantee scheme.

In the case of Jordan Kuwait Bank plc – Cyprus branch failure, eligible depositors having covered accounts in this bank will be paid out the following compensation:
